Jack Fusco – “Celestial Cinema”

DescriptionExplore the art of capturing live video under the night sky. This talk will cover the unique character of night sky videography with a deeper look into the limitations and considerations for this challenging technique.  The discussion will highlight the importance of selecting appropriate locations and gear while emphasizing the critical role of timing.

Jack Fusco – “SoCal Under the Stars: Exploring Dark Skies Within a Day’s Drive”

DescriptionFrom epic Milky Way shots to stunning star trails, this talk is all about capturing the night sky close to home. Learn how and where to find dark skies, and learn all the essentials for capturing great photos of the stars. Join Jack Fusco as he shares his experience capturing dark skies in locations within driving distance of Los Angeles.

Instructor Bio: Jack Fusco is a professional landscape astrophotographer/time-lapser. What began as a way purely to document his travels as a touring musician, photography has become his main form of creative expression. His work has been featured by National Geographic, TEDx, LA Times, NASA APOD, BBC, Forbes and more.

 

Ross Joseph – “Level Up Your Print Game with Canon”

Description: Did you know that printing your own images is fun, easy, and inexpensive? Which printer should you use? What about paper? And what about those settings? Gain some insight on why you should print your own images.

 

Madison Hood – “Family Portraiture”

Description: Learn best practices for creating compelling family portraits by understanding your gear, knowing how to pose, and getting your families comfortable so you can capture their most authentic selves.

 

Eric Bruehl and Karla Campos- “Mics, Cameras, Action: Setting Up a Professional Podcast Recording”

Description:   Designed for creators, production assistants, and aspiring podcasters, this workshop breaks down the core techniques needed to produce a polished and consistent podcast setup in virtually any space whether you are creating a video podcast, an audio-only show, or both. You will learn how to professionally set up a podcast production using Sony mirrorless cameras, proper lighting, and clean audio capture.  Topics covered are: recommended settings for multi-camera podcast recordings; framing and composition for two-person podcast layouts; simple lighting techniques to flatter hosts and guests (3-point lighting); microphone types, placement, and audio interfaces for clear dialogue capture; syncing audio and video for post-production ease; quick fixes for common issues like echo, cross-talk, and poor acoustics.  You will walk away with a practical, repeatable setup workflow to record high-quality podcast content that looks and sounds professional from the very first take.

Instructor Bio: Boston is a rock inspired music photographer based in Los Angeles with over a decade of experience in concert photography. Dedicated to capturing the iconic moments of the stage, no matter the artist, Boston works freelance with various local artists & global publications. She also shares her photography learnings and insights on both her YouTube channel & podcast: “Taking Over The Photo Pit”.

 

George Simian – “Making beautiful light with Profoto”

Description: Join George for a live demonstration showcasing the Profoto B20’s capabilities, through rapid-fire portraits in 10 different setups in just 20 minutes. We’ll leverage its ultra-fast recycle time, precise flash duration control, TTL automation, and proven reliability to create spontaneous images throughout various locations around and outside the store.

 

Madison Hood – “Street Photography”

Description: This class teaches street photography techniques including a range of different cities and environments. We will also discuss cameras and lenses to use, camera settings, and street etiquette. There will be visual examples shown, as well as some ways to get creative with your images!
