Lighting is one of the most powerful tools a photographer can learn, but it often feels intimidating when you’re first getting started. In this workshop, commercial and editorial portrait photographer Chris Fain will break down the fundamentals of working with artificial light in a way that’s approachable and easy to understand.
Instead of focusing on memorizing lighting setups, this class explores the concepts behind great lighting. Through live demonstrations using professional lighting systems and modifiers, Chris will show how light direction, size, and distance shape the look of an image and how different tools can dramatically influence the final result.
You’ll see how photographers use modern lighting gear to create consistent, controlled results and how understanding the why behind lighting makes it much easier to choose the right tool for the job.
