Step outside and discover the intricate beauty of flora thriving right around us. Led by macro specialist and fine-art photographer Heather Larkin, this immersive field workshop takes place amid the rich oak woodlands and botanical displays of Descanso Gardens. Dive deep into the technical side of high-magnification close-up photography, focusing entirely on flowers, petals, and botanical details. Learn how to work with natural light, manage depth of field, and compose striking, tack-sharp macro imagery of floral subjects in the field.
You’ll have an opportunity to test Sigma lenses for creative photography and watch Heather as she shares how to find critters or interesting flowers.
*Please be advised that while we strive to ensure easy access for all, due to the naturally varied topography, portions of any walk may be inaccessible to those with mobility concerns.
