Description: If you are interested learning more about how to take appetizing food photos, then this class is just what you’ve been waiting for. Whether you are new to photography or are more experienced, but want to learn more about how to approach food as a subject, this class will information and useful tips that will help take your food photos to the next level.
During this class, we will:
- Understand how the careful selection of depth of field best shows off your food.
- Make sure everything that needs to be sharp is sharp!
- Control color through white balance, Picture Style and an understanding of your environment.
- See what I would recommend for lenses and accessories.
- Learn some simple lighting solutions to fit the mood.
- Get tips on how to style food, prepare for and manage your shoot.

Instructor Bio: Peter had over a decade of experience working with Canon’s printers and imaging products before he joined the camera product educator team in 2013. As a Canon technical representative, he is a passionate teacher and enjoys helping everyone from full time professionals to beginners. His favorite genres of photography including: architecture, aerospace, food, landscape, portraiture, macro, sports and travel.
Class Title: The Incredible World of Macro Photography with Madison Hood
Description: In this class, there will be an introduction to the incredibly small and (sometimes big) detailed universe of macro photography. The goal of this course is to leave everyone feeling inspired by the endless possibilities not normally seen with the naked eye. This class is designed for an individual who is looking to cultivate different creative outlets and make fun, unique images. During the presentation, an individual can expect to learn about the variety powerful EOS camera systems, lenses, and lens accessories that Canon offers to its customers and take advantage of the latest features and functionality to achieve sharp and accurate manual focus. The ideal participant should already understand basic exposure in photography and is looking to expand their lens collection and develop skills in a new genre of photography.
Instructor Bio: Madison has been in the photography industry for about 6 years whether it’s behind the camera or behind the counter working at a camera store. She was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and currently lives in San Diego, California. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. She is passionate about photography both creatively and technically and loves sharing her exploration with others. She enjoys street and documentary style photography along with shooting film, both 35mm and medium format, along with experimenting with alternative processes like cyanotypes and salt prints.
