On Location, Hands-On Shoot April 17th @11:30pm – April 18th @5:30am

Jack will lead a small group of photographers to a fantastic view of Bortle Class 2 skies, nearly as dark as the sky can get.

Jack will be guiding you through the basics of astrophotography all the way up to advanced techniques. There will be a review of basic astronomy information that will help you plan and capture images of the stars.

Through this very unique astrophotography workshop, you will have the opportunity to use the Sigma 50mm F1.2 DG DN to shoot incredible panoramic images of the Milky Way as it rises above the horizon. The longer focal length and fast F1.2 aperture will result in truly stunning and detailed images above the otherworldly pinnacles.

There will also be several Benro Polaris heads available for attendees to try out during the workshop. The Polaris smart tripod head can capture incredible motion timelapses, panoramas, focus stacking, exposure stacking, and even long exposures of the night sky.

What You Will Learn

● We will meet on location with time to scout and plan compositions.

● Jack will share his personal approach to how he would plan an entire night to maximize his time shooting and ensure that he leaves with images he is excited about.
