Born and raised on the breathtaking shores of Oahu, Hawaii, Stan Moniz’s journey into photography began in the waves. As a free diver and surfer on the North Shore, his connection to the ocean sparked a lifelong passion for capturing its raw beauty and boundless energy.
Today, Stan’s work is a harmonious blend of two worlds—beneath the waves and above the horizon. His photography captures the untamed power of the sea, the grace of marine life, and the celestial wonders of the night sky. Each image tells a story of nature’s splendor and the need to protect it.
A passionate advocate for ocean conservation and an avid stargazer, Stan’s visual storytelling shines through his collaborations with renowned brands such as Sony Electronics, and PADI AWARE. When he’s not behind the lens, he shares his expertise through workshops and mentorships, inspiring others to explore their creative vision.

The cost of registration only covers the workshop fee, not accommodations or meals. There are several motels and hotels in the area where you can stay. We have reserved several rooms at the Best Western Lone Pine. You can reserve a room for two nights by purchasing the motel accommodations ticket.
Payment Policy: Minimum of 5 attendees needed. Samy’s Photo School reserves the right to cancel this event if fewer than 5 register.
Cancellation: Registration fees are not refundable if cancelling within 60 days of the workshop start date.
