SUMMARY:Advanced Street Photography Intensive with Todd Felderstein - Los Angeles
DESCRIPTION:In this Advanced Street Photography Intensive\, we will explore our everyday surroundings with a curious\, artistic eye and an eager camera.\n\n\nAs a photographer\, how do we see? What makes people\, places\, and things so fascinating while simultaneously so intimidating? How do we identify and then approach scenes and subjects without disturbing the story? \nWelcome to our Advanced Street Photography Intensive\, where\, after a brief technical review of the exposure triangle & composition\, participating photographers will embark on the local streets with cameras in hand. Each outing will offer the opportunity for an in-depth classroom review by our peers while diving into the careers of those photography giants in this field. Our overall goal is to take our photographic skills to the next level and refine our ability to “see” while furthering our prowess on the street. \nWe will wrap the day with a much stronger understanding of street photography and how best to capture the world around us in a still image that speaks volumes. \nLECTURE TOPICS WILL INCLUDE: \n\nAdvanced composition techniques: Layering/Separation\, Juxtaposition\, Reflection\n\n\nShow a series of classic street photographs from masters such as: Cartier-Bresson\, Gordon Parks\, Mary Ellen Mark\, Bruce Gilden\, Vivian Maier\, then discuss their techniques which make them stand above the rest.\nReview & Critique images – What works and what can be further improved\nFocus and the Psychology of people and their movement: Zone focusing\, How people move\, How people react to their surroundings\, Closeness and Spontaneity\nProjects and Theme: Creating images under a unified theme and purpose. Looking for emotion in your subject.\nCombine the above with the exposure triangle.\n\nWORKSHOP SCHEDULE: \n10:30 am-11:30 am Review Exposure Triangle & Composition at Samy’s Camera Los Angeles \n12:00 pm-1:30 pm Advanced Street Photography Lecture Samy’s Camera Los Angeles \n1:30 pm-3:00 pm Advanced Street Photography Hands-On Shoot \n3:00 pm-4:00 pm Advanced Street Photography Review & Critique at Samy’s Camera Los Angeles \n**Attendees may shoot with either film or digital cameras. DESCRIPTION:Samy’s Camera and Profoto invite you to join Chris Fain in a workshop on the fundamentals of working with artificial light.\n\n\nLighting is one of the most powerful tools a photographer can learn\, but it often feels intimidating when you’re first getting started. As the host of Geared Up – Live with Profoto\, he regularly demonstrates lighting techniques and gear for photographers around the world. His goal is simple: make lighting easier to understand so photographers can spend less time guessing and more time creating. \n\n\n\nBy registering for this workshop\, you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions.
