Narrative & Story Telling with George Simian – Live Online

March 7 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Ticket Registration

In this class George will teach a variety of strategies for making your images more engaging, through an implied narrative.

Is storytelling something you can only do with a video on IG or Tik-Tok? Still images can also tell a story, by capturing an emotion or a gesture that raises questions, and invites the viewer to imagine any possible resolutions. The viewer participates in understanding and interpreting the story – the more open-ended, the better!

Photojournalists have illustrated stories with still images for over 150 years – but we don’t need a sequence of images – one photograph will be much more interesting to your viewer, with its interpretation left wide open.

A single image can tell a powerful or an emotional or even a humorous story! In this class we’ll discuss a variety of strategies for making your images more engaging, through an implied narrative.

George will explain with examples from his own work, and with significant images from the history of photography. Bring your curiosity and an open mind!

This class is being taught on the Zoom platform and is limited to 20 attendees.
